Three semesters.
One foundation.

Learn the language of the Qur'an

You can read the Qur'an. Now begin learning its language.

For many Muslims, Arabic begins and ends with recitation. You can read the words, recognise familiar phrases and know the translation of many verses, but understanding Arabic on its own can still feel distant.

This programme is designed to bridge that gap through a structured progression in Arabic, with Qur'anic examples and the tools needed to understand how the language works.

What you'll learn

From zero to understanding.

We believe Arabic should be learned systematically: encounter a concept, practise it, apply it in real Arabic, then begin to understand.

Arabic foundations

Build the vocabulary and fundamental structures needed to begin learning Arabic.

Naḥw — Arabic grammar

Understand how Arabic sentences are constructed and how words function within them.

Ṣarf — Arabic morphology

Explore Arabic word patterns and how changes in form influence meaning.

Vocabulary

Develop a growing Arabic vocabulary through structured lessons and repeated exposure.

Reading & comprehension

Move from recognising individual words to understanding expressions and sentences.

Qur'anic application

See the principles you learn applied to selected examples from the Qur'an.

The programme

Study Arabic systematically.

Our primary textbook is Durūs al-Lughah al-ʿArabiyyah li-Ghayr al-Nāṭiqīna Bihā by Dr. V. Abdur Rahim. Alongside the Madinah Books, students study Naḥw and Ṣarf.

Who this course is for

A clear place to begin.

You are starting from zero, can read Arabic but do not understand it, or have tried learning before without developing a coherent foundation.

You want a structured path towards understanding Islamic texts and do not want to spend years jumping between disconnected lessons and resources.

You do not need to know Arabic already. You simply need the willingness to learn consistently.

Where we arrive

A foundation for continued study.

The goal is not simply to complete three books. It is to give students the linguistic foundations needed to continue towards proficiency and approach Islamic scholarship in its original language.
